Puppet Manualfesto #Philadelphia

Puppet Manualfesto celebrates short-form puppetry, community and food, embracing a multitude of performance aesthetics. If it involves puppetry, mask work or object theatre we want to see and share it with everyone else. Pay-what-you-can for dinner, stay for the show. A night filled with 2 to 10 minute gems of live puppetry, short film screenings between set-ups and dinner beforehand.

VENUE: Walking Fish Theatre (43 Seats)

DETAILS: The Philadelphia Puppet Manualfesto will be working in conjunction with Puppet Uprising (PU). PU is currently restructuring internally and will not be focusing on its puppet cabaret for the coming year. PU is committed to its December 2011 cabaret. And we at Puppet Maunalfesto will pick-up on their rich puppet cabaret tradition, offering Philadelphia audiences a continued short puppet form experience with our own Fishtown spin at B.Someday Productions’ Walking Fish Theatre of Philadelphia. As in our past (self-produced through studium-praxis) events, we will continue to invite audiences and performers alike to a soup & salad or spaghetti dinner before the performances as a way to commune. We will not be in competition with Puppet Uprising and will exist as an East/West compliment to each other’s separate efforts, sharing our resources to help facilitate short form puppetry in and around Philadelphia.
